My latest obsession, Carla Bruni.
Her voice is so soft and flawless - sounding all the more beautiful for being in French.

Somebody please sweep me off of my feet, all the way to Paris?

I know it isn't christmas anymore but could somebody please buy me this? After trying it on today I can think of nothing else - if only I physically had £52.

Paired with a sleeveless collared top I think it'd make the perfect NYE outfit.
Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up?
Blinded by nostalgia.

It all seems like 5 minutes ago...

If I could rewind back to any period of my life it would be when I was 15, without a doubt.
So many things I'd have done differently, so many experiences I'd just love to live again.
Everything was so beautifully simple.

Home for christmas.

Tomorrow brings christmas shopping with mother, a potential trip to the cinema with a couple of friends and a pub quiz later on. I'll be no help whatsoever but I'll take any excuse to spend as much time with my nearest and dearest as I can, while I'm back home in Notts. As for tonight, with a glass of gin and elderflower in hand I intend to finally make a dent into this 4,500 word novel extract. By which I mean make empty promises to myself that I'll at least get a little done, when in actual fact I'm just watching a ton of films. What can I say? It's christmas!

If I'm not in Sheffield where I go to university or at home in Nottingham, you can usually find me here - in Dorset. It's where both of my parents are from, where they grew up, met and fell in love. I have a pretty large extended family, and most of them still live around here, so we visit often. I've always felt that there is something magical about the South Coast - something that has always made me feel safe and warm.  I love being driven around listening to my parents as they reel off stories of their past and point out all of the places that mean or have ever meant something special to them. And all of the trips we take as a family, whether that just be a stroll along the beach front mid-winter, spending all of our change in the amusement arcades or exploring an area still unknown to us. Growing up I used to tell my family that I could never live here as I'd have nowhere so special to visit on holiday. Although that point still stands I often think that now that I'm older, and perhaps even a little wiser, that I probably could. The beaches, the quaint little cafes and shops, the fact that I'd be surrounded by relatives - there are definitely worse places I could settle.

It was my Nan's 80th yesterday. Happy birthday to her.

Spent yesterday evening smothered in facemasks, moisturisers and exfoliaters whilst re-watching one of my favourite films, An Education. There isn't a whole lot I wouldn't do to be best friends with Jenny, or to match her in style and class. We ate lots of sweet popcorn and I favoured Irish Cream as he sipped neat Whisky. Perfect girls-night-in for two.

"It's you, it's you, it's all for you
Everything I do
I tell you all the time
Heaven is a place on earth with you
Tell me all the things you want to do
I heard that you like the bad girls
Honey, is that true?
It's better than I ever even knew
They say that the world was built for two
Only worth living if somebody is loving you
Baby now you do"

Our disposables have finally been developed to reveal the mess of fake blood, women's clothing and vomit that was our Halloween. A weekend of spending ridiculous amounts of time and money on decorating the house, dressing like a slutty goth, drinking, dancing and generally having tons of fun made even the arduous two day clean up after the house party seem worth it.
Don't you just love Halloween?

"The human heart has hidden treasures, In secret kept, in silence sealed; The thoughts, the hopes, the dreams, the pleasures, Whose charms were broken if revealed."

I think its finally about time I started a blog.
